This personalized business coaching session is geared at Wine Entrepreneurs who are planning to switch career to the wine industry and seek advice / input to their personal / business plan.
It is a one-on-one session with the president of our company – Laurent Guinand – who since 1991 has been working successively as a wine marketer, banker, strategy consultant and more recently as an entrepreneur / investor in the wine industry. Laurent Guinand teaches wine marketing at various universities such as the Bordeaux International Wine Institute, Fuqua MBA at Duke and George Washington University among others. Laurent is also a professional wine writer for publications such as Wines & Vines and Wine Business International. He has worked on dozens of wine related business plans. These Personalized Wine Entrepreneurship Coaching sessions can be conducted in our office or by phone. Coaching consists of providing our client with a reality check, i.e ways to find / derive solid numbers for their business plan in order to use for bank loans / investment search and of course their own business planning. Typical subjects discussed include:
- Concept development / proof of concept testing – How to make sure you are focusing on the most relevant aspects or your idea
- Strategic planning - How to devise your overall strategy and implement your priorities
- Competitive landscape and environment - Who is doing what and are you different enough
- Marketing analysis: data segmentation / addressable market - How to make sure your marketing assumptions are sound enough
- Financial plan: business rules & assumptions / numbers triangulations / risk analysis / forecasting – How to present financial forecasts that triangulate with your assumptions
- Marketing plan: traditional marketing / e-marketing / social media - How to ensure your marketing dollars will be used wisely
- Franchises - Should you consider buying a franchise
- Board of Advisors – Who to choose, how to find them
You can save many months of research, modeling and headaches by getting input and directions from a pro. Pricing is as follows:
- 1 hour coaching: $180
- 2 hour coaching: $290
Once you purchase the coaching session, Laurent Guinand will contact you for a 15 minute interview by phone. In this interview, you will get a chance to explain your project. Then you will schedule the coaching session and laurent will advise you on what documents to email ahead of time for him to prepare for the session. We are OK with signing NDAs.
| Presenters: | Professor Laurent Guinand is the president of GiraMondo Wine Ventures – a wine business consulting firm – who has been teaching at different graduate institutions for the past few years. He was an adjunct professor of international business at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy where he taught to graduate students of Harvard Business School, Harvard Kennedy School, MIT Sloan School and of course the Fletcher School. He is currently a lecturer in international wine business at the Bordeaux International Wine Institute and the Fuqua School of Business (Duke University). Professor Guinand holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Paris XIII. He is also a graduate of the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University and of the Ross School of Business from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Laurent is a member of the Society of Wine Educators and the American Association of Wine Economists. Laurent writes professionally for Wine Business International and Wines & Vines and is a frequent speaker in international conferences and trade shows. This seminar is an aggregation of several seminars he teaches to graduate students in wine related programs. |
